I am a Brisbane-based emerging textile artist whose practice explores personal growth, identity, achievement, and the experiences that shape who we become. Drawing on my background in fashion, embroidery, and textile techniques, I create contemporary textile artworks that combine craftsmanship with storytelling.
Through hand embroidery, tambour beading, beadwork, appliqué, fabric manipulation, and mixed textile processes, I investigate themes of transformation, resilience, and becoming. While my work is visually decorative, it is grounded in conceptual exploration, using beauty, symbolism, and textiles to encourage reflection on the shared experiences that connect us.
About the Artist
Artistic Practice
The themes that interest me most are the experiences people go through in life: how we struggle, how we grow, how we determine who we are, and how we choose to live our lives. I am fascinated by the deeper meanings behind our decisions, ambitions, and personal journeys.
My work explores these ideas through symbolic imagery, embroidery, and traditional textile techniques. Drawing inspiration from flowers, birds, and cultural motifs, I create layered works that communicate ideas extending beyond their surface. Historical techniques such as tambour beading, hand embroidery, and beadwork are central to my practice, reflecting my commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship while exploring contemporary ideas through textiles.
Through my work, I hope to encourage viewers to reflect on their own experiences of growth, achievement, uncertainty, and transformation, recognising that becoming is an ongoing journey rather than a final destination.
